Below are instructions and procedures to help you get the most out of your products or next service.
♦ Start by using your retinol every other night or every 2 nights and work up to every night. Add nights as your skin begins to tolerate the product.
♦ USE A PEA SIZE AMOUNT. DOT THE FACE AND FEATHER PRODUCT AROUND AVOIDING CREVICES AND FOLDS AROUND THE MOUTH
♦ You may experience redness and/or peeling; this is normal. Add moisturizer either before or after application if needed. There is little to no moisturizing ability to most retinol products. If there any moisturizing ability you may still needed especially in winter months.
♦ Retinol products can make you more sensitive to sun exposure if in direct sun with no protection such as: hat or sufficient SPF (sunscreen) of 30 or higher. Using physical sunscreens that contain Zinc Oxide or Titanium Dioxide are best protection since they sit on top of the skin and refract sunlight.
♦ Treatments such as chemical peels (stop 5 days), microdermabrasion and microneedling: stop 2-3 days prior to treatments.
♦ Do not let your skin get dry. Reduce usage for a few days to rehydrate then restart. If not successful please contact Joan Merski at (317) 903-1010
The microneedling procedure uses a microneedle pen to make thousands of microscopic holes in the skin to trigger the skins natural healing process. This process jump-starts collagen and elastin production in the skin, resulting in more youthful, rejuvenated skin texture and appearance.
Microneedling can be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, surgical or acne scarring, and hyperpigmentation. Typically, multiple monthly sessions followed by a maintenance regimen generate the best results. Microneedling can be done on the face, neck, chest, hands or used to spot treat scars.
♦ Prior to Appointment
• Prior to your appointment, you will obtain a numbing cream ( currently from Amazon: Ebanel 5% Lidocaine ) for you to apply 30 minutes prior to your treatment to minimize any discomfort. Multiple layers of the cream can be applied to increase the numbing effect. Post-procedure, you may have redness like a mild sunburn that usually subsides within 24-36 hours. Any other side effects please, contact Joan Merski. 317-903-1010.
• Only mild skincare products are to be used following your treatment. No Alpha Hydroxy cleansers, lotions, treatments serums or retinol are to be used until the skin has resumed normal hydration and or moisture levels.
• No exercise, swimming, excessive sun exposure or makeup day of the procedure.
• Use a minimum of SPF 30 or higher. Preferably a sunscreen that contains either Zinc oxide, Titanium Dioxide or that contain both.
